Accelerating Profit Growth in a Slowdown Economy

Creating profitability gains of 30% or more even in a slowdown economy can be achieved by almost any business. Every company has enormous untapped profit potential: 30-40% of every business is unprofitable by any measure, while 20-30% provides all the reported profits and subsidizes the losses.

Two keys to accelerating profit growth: (1) to identify your “sweet spot” accounts and products capable of sustained high profit growth, and to creatively tailor and build your value package to secure and grow this segment; and (2) to identify the “profit levers” that will enable you to transform the marginal parts of your business into profitability.

Jonathan Byrnes, author of the award-winning book Islands of Profit in a Sea of Red Ink, explains how to lead the profit acceleration process. He illustrates the process with a number of actual case examples.

The Columbia Business School Alumni Club of Boston is pleased to partner with the MIT Sloan Alumni Club of Boston for this event.
